While the cooking alone may make you want to stay close to the Ranch house, there is still plenty to do when you are not eating (and to help you work up an appetite or work off the calories!). We feature traditional horseback rides, pack trips, and hiking trips; story telling, clogging, square dancing, pickin' and singin', fishing in the Ranch pond, lawn games, piano playing, wagon rides, bonfires, marshmallow roasts and a seasonally heated outdoor pool.

In addition, Western North Carolina offers a wide variety of activities. Whitewater rafting courses, craft shops, golf courses, and recreational and historical sites, including the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Appalachian Trail, Biltmore Estate, Blowing Rock, Blue Ridge Parkway, Cherokee Indian Reservation with Harrah's Casino, Chimney Rock Park, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Caverns, Mountain Heritage Center, Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, and, of course, the Cataloochee Ski Area, are just a short ride away.
