How much tax is added to the final bill?
We have to add local tax (4%) and state tax (7%) to the final bill.

Do you accept credit cards?
Yes, we gladly accept VISA, MasterCard and American Express.

Are there refrigerators in the rooms/cabins?
All the cabins and four of the units in Silverbell have either a full or a small refrigerator.

Is the Ranch air-conditioned?
There’s no air conditioning. And no need for it. The high altitude at the Ranch keeps temperatures pleasantly cool, even in summer.

What kind of food can we expect?
For dinner, we serve American-style food that can range from steak, chicken or ribs on the outdoor grill to baked ham or roast pork in the indoor dining room. There’s also a selection of side dishes, such as locally-sourced garden vegetables, onion casserole, and corn soufflé, plus fresh garden salad and hot dinner rolls.

Breakfasts include bacon and sausage, eggs, biscuits, French toast, fresh fruit juices, coffee, and homemade jellies and jams.

Lunch off the menu includes deli sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers, homemade soups and fresh salads. We also offer a selection of fine wine and local craft beer.

Are you able to accommodate special diets? Vegetarian?
Yes, we can accommodate vegetarian diets, gluten-free diets or other food allergy diets with prior notification.

What kind of entertainment can we expect on our visit?
There’s no rigid schedule for entertainment at the Ranch. Generally, there’s live music after dinner about three or four times a week during peak season. There may also be historical lectures, storytelling or informal educational demonstrations such as Outdoor Biologist Rob Gudger and his Timber Wolf. For specific information regarding your visit, please call us at (828)926-1401 or check the Entertainment Calendar on our home page.

Will we have access to cell phone and internet service?
Guests who have Verizon service can get cell phone signals. AT&T/ iPhones cannot get a signal here. The Ranch offers free wi-fi. There are also several internet cafes and locations nearby where you can pick up a good signal. (The Ranch’s internet may go down periodically due to weather-related issues.)

Do you allow pets?
Yes. Cataloochee Ranch is pleased to be a "Pet Friendly" establishment. We offer a limited number of cabins that are designated as "Pet Friendly" (except for the months of December, January and February.) Those cabins are Chestnut, Crabapple, and Sourwood. Our pet fee is $100 per pet for the duration of your stay. No more than two pets per cabin would be accepted. Due to the nature of the Ranch, all dogs must be on a leash at all times outside of the cabin. Upon check-in, you will need to sign a Pet Policy Agreement, and then you and your pet can make yourselves at home.

Is the outdoor swimming pool heated?
Yes.

What activities do you offer?
Activities offered at various times include horseback riding, hiking, wildflower walks, wagon rides, fishing, badminton, croquet, ping pong, horse shoe pit, basketball and volleyball. Many offsite excursions are available upon request.
